Area 728 is simply out of playable fields, too
many players, not enough fields.
Adult Softball, Girls Fastpitch Softball, Special Olympics and our own
Elk River Youth Baseball program continue to grow and needs more fields.
School District fields need our help the most. On many fields the
infield is shot. It’s weeds, age, compaction and degradation of the
aglime, where it turns to dust, that contribute to poor playing conditions.
As fields continue to get older, we will lose more and more playable ball
fields. We propose Area 728 partner up with the parents, coaches and
the School District to begin a program of annual field maintenance and repair.

| We need your help.
Players, parents and coaches can all get involved.
Donations of material and labor are necessary if we want good fields
to play on.
If you see a field improvement need, please contact Area 728 Elk River
Baseball to discuss implementing your ideas.
Specific areas where you can help: Picking up the trash left in
the dugout and bench area after a game. Raking and filling in the holes
in the infields and outfields. Weed removal. Backstop and fence maintenance,
tie down some of that loose chain link.
